Hammered Dulcimer Music . . . . Programs

Sherri Farley presents
"Dulcimer Tunes & Tales"
Dulcimer
Tunes & Tales

"Sit back and recall days when music was played in the parlor, on the front porch, or under the canopy of an old shade tree. Tap your toes to a lively variety of tunes and experience tales of the tradition and history of dulcimer music."

A presentation that is entertaining and informative, “Dulcimer Tunes & Tales” is a musical/narrative program that features the hammered dulcimer, recalling its music and heritage. The program includes a variety of tunes, anecdotes and demonstrations of how to play both the hammered and mountain dulcimers. Participants are offered a hands-on opportunity to play the instruments.

Tailored for any group, “Tunes & Tales” is an enjoyable presentation for libraries, schools, senior, church and civic groups, clubs and organizations. Partial funding may be available through the Illinois Arts Council "Artstour" program.
